Haha, A.S. I definitely hear you on the “hating the book that stole 8 months of my life” front. But, if we want to have as much writing time as possible, then a little “fake love” for the book can’t hurt. I bet Stephen King does that all the time ;). Thanks for the comment!

First, I couldn’t convince a person to watch a movie if my life depended on it.

Second, my reason for thinking someone would enjoy a movie is usually along the lines of, “I enjoyed it and we have similar tastes”.

But if we’re now talking about a book I wrote, I probably hate it by this stage, and if I don’t I’m terribly biased.

That’s a tough one, Sara. From what I’ve seen in the self-publishing world, sometimes agents are pretty far off what’s financially viable. Writing to what an agent thinks is going to work well is probably a good strategy for getting traditionally published. Writing in between those genres is something self-published authors have had success doing in the last decade. Thanks for reading!
