I hope, I would agree to this post after I could read my novel in a book, not in my manuscript or in my computer. Indeed, he is absolutely right. I had an open mind and was a very positive thinker. However I was lazy. Many people left me, even the most love of my life. Then I was depressed for uncountable years. Only then I realized, no one was approaching me anymore, no one came back to me. I was waiting, nobody arrives. One morning I saw an overflowed ball pen scattered somewhere in our home. I picked it up, then tried to use it. It was still fine. Then I found an old notebook with only few writings on it. There was a long paused. I was thinking what to write. Then a character formed into my mind, creating the first character of my story. He wasn’t a reflection of me, in some way perhaps, but he was a combination of many people of my life. People that I admired, loved and even hated. Days passed, I have written from hundreds of word to thousands of word. Months passed I have written the first fifteen chapters of my manuscript. Then after a year, the whole manuscript finished with forty one chapters. No work today, even your the most positive guy in the world, tomorrow you will suffer hunger. And the positive charge in your brain, will electrocute you down.

Once again, the timing of this post couldn’t be more perfect, or more eery.

2013 was a very life-changing and interesting year for me – it was the year where I realised that, actually, I do want to write, among other things. It’s a year where I proverbially ‘found myself’ and found a direction for my life, having spent the last five years wandering through life aimlessly.

So this new year really is a new beginning for me, in so many ways.

Good post, as usual. What have I learned this year? Let’s see. I think I’ve learned that I do have something of value to offer. I’ve learned failure is not the worst thing. I used to avoid it at all costs. Now I see it as a part of living life. For me, that’s growth.
